May Spotlight Winners

A very Good Morning to everyone,

A little later than normal due to it taking me far longer than it should to get myself sorted after my hols, but I am as always thrilled to introduce two more super talented crafters to you for our monthly 'In the Spotlight Feature'.

I think May was rather a difficult theme, but you proved to us what a super talented bunch you are and we had some really fabulous entries and the final two 'In the Spotlight' are Tanya and Irene.

Tanya

Heres's a little bit about Tanya: "First of all, thanks so much to Brenda and the Penny Black and More DT for choosing my card for the Spotlight, I'm honoured :D

My name is Tanya, I'm 23 and live in Ireland. I was never particularly crafty at all up to last year, when I became very ill and spent 10 months in hospital; there was a craft-room for long-term patients there and I started jewellery-making and knitting. Then, another patient brought a card making kit in and shared it with me, and since then I've been addicted! For me, it has been something positive to focus on and take my mind off my illness. I started blogging 6 months ago, having spent hours looking at others' blogs, full of amazing creations. There's so much talent and inspiration out there, I'm always totally in awe of these masterpieces. It's still all so new to me - every time I make a card I learn something new, and I love that."

Irene

And Irene: "Hi, I’m Irene, mum to 3 and grandma to 5, and I am so pleased to have one of my cards in the spotlight. Thank you Brenda and the team.

I have crafted in one form or another, most of my life. My mum taught me to knit when I was 5, and I have dabbled in lots of crafts, but for the last 15 years cards have been my thing. I first started with stamping, but my colouring was awful, but after a water colouring class things improved, and then I was introduced to copics markers and they are now my first choice for colouring.

I  have had my blog for 2 years, and love visiting other blogs for inspiration, there are some very talented people out there, and I  am also a member of a couple of crafting forums, and have made some very good friends" .

Well done to you both, please grab out 'In the Spotlight' sidebar button to display on your own blogs.

April spotlight winners

A very good Morning to you all, it's time to reveal the 'In the Spotlight' winners from our April challenge.

But before I tell you who the lucky crafters are, a quick reminder about our May challenge. I think we might have frightened some of you away with our theme, but really it's not that bad, it's very much down to you how you want to interpret it. For example it could be a celebration of your own Countries involvement in the Olympics or just a sporty image, or even a beautifully coloured Queen or Princess. We have some fabulous prizes to be won, so I really hope you will join in the fun.

So now for our Spotlight winners, we had such a huge number of entries and selecting our favourites was so, so difficult, but here are the two entries we finally settled on.

Natasha had two beautiful entries and as we could not choose between the two thought it only right to display both and a few thoughts from the DT.........

"an adorable rainy day card that would brighten anyones day"..........."stunning"

"those balloons look as thought they could just float away"

Here is a little about me:

Hi, my name is Natasha and I am so excited to have two cards chosen by the design team for the Penny Black and More spotlight!  I have been making cards now for about a year and a half.  I started out with SU products then quickly started venturing out and purchasing other stamps.

I have just recently started blogging (around two months ago) and I enjoy sharing my cards with others.  One of the most difficult things about making cards for me is the layout and patterned papers!  Getting that just right is a challenge.  :)  I love coloring up stamped images and of course digital images too. I think my style leans more toward clean and simple, even though I do like to decorate my cards "a little".  My favorite Penny Black stamps are of course the Hedgehogs!  They are so darn cute!!!  Well, that's a little about me.  I would like to say Thank you to the team for spotlighting me! Natasha

Our second winner is Natalie with this equally beautiful piece of work and here's some of thee DT's comments...........

"a work of art and a beautiful scene"......."really gorgeous details".......

My name is Nataliya. I'm 32 years old and I am originally from Ukraine. My family and I have been living in Ireland for 9 years. I am married and we have 2 beautiful daughters. I started crafting 4 years ago and couldn't stop :))) I love to use stamped images on my cards, and especially I enjoy colouring them with copic markers. I also like trying different styles, shape cards with lace, ribbons, die cuts, pearls and lots of layers. I wish everyone all the best!! Enjoy your crafting and have fun!!! Hugs Natalie xx

Our thanks to each and every one of your for your fabulous entries and congratulations to Natasha and Nataliya's, I really hope you will pop over to their blog and show them your support, I know it would mean a great deal to both of them.

May challenge

Welcome to our May theme here at Penny Black and More and we have a very London theme going on this month to celebrate our Queens Diamond Jubilee and the upcoming Olympics which I for one am really looking forward to, it's such an honour to be hosting them in the UK. So our theme just had to be:

............London Celebrates............

Your entry can be a card, l/o, gift box or any other had crafted piece of work, all we ask is that your main image is stamped (remember strictly no digi images) and that it reflects the theme, it could even be using your own Country's flag colours to reflect their participation in the Olympics.

The eagle eyed amongst you will know all about the 'Delightful Celebration' collection of stamps from Penny Black which can all be viewed here, they will be available to buy on line the second week in May and in your local stockists soon after. Do check them out, I already have my eye on 40-132 So Blessed which has the most adorable silhouette lady and 30-117 Free Flight with some gorgeous butterflies and birdcage.

Lots of fabby prizes to be won as usual and first up we welcome a new sponsor Crafts U Love who are offering a £15.00 voucher for their shop. They now have the new Magnolia Summer Memories stamp collection in stock and you will find all the new goodies as they arrive here - allow plenty of time, there's so much to feast your eyes on.

And next one of our regular sponsors Crimson Cloud a mother/daughter venture - a way to indulge our joint passion of cardmaking and crafting. We only sell products that we have tried, tested and love using. We have developed our own exclusive range of digital stamps, svg files and "Make Your Own Card" kits which reflect our styles of card making - and hopefully yours too!

Here's the great prize they are offering.......................
The prize for the winner of the entry using a Penny Black stamp from Sir Stampalot are our regular sponsors of this category.................

Sir Stampalot are familiar to lots of us, not only do they have a great web site selling all the latest craft stamps and goodies, they also have a fabulous spacious shop...............be warned if you visit allow plenty of time as there is so much to see. The 'Delightful Celebration' Penny Black range will be in store this month as well. The prize from them this month seems very apt with all the visitors London is going to welcome this Summer:

Penny Black launched the wonderful London Collection to celebrate the Olympics and Jubilee and are giving some of those stamps as prizes this month. If you are not already a member why not join the club and sign up to their newsletter so you will be amongst the first to see all the sneak peeks of new releases. The design Team have really pulled out all the stops this month and have showcased all things London wonderfully, please do pop along to their individual blogs and share some love with them...

Our Guest Designer this month from our sister challenge Allsorts is my teami Nicola who has created this lovely piece of artwork for us..............
